Satyendra the Stringmaster
Satyendra the Stringmaster
This fun print is a conflation of letterpress print terminology and quantum physics…it offers a quirky take on both spheres of knowledge and plays with the idea that all the potential meanings of everything could be created by using the letters within a typecase which in turn may be in any of a number of dimensions of reality! Mind-bending stuff!
The print measures approx 21cm x 11cm.
It is printed in bronze dark blue ink on soft white Somerset Velvet 300gsm paper
The string master himself is named after Satyendra Nath Bose an Indian mathematician and theoretical physicist best known for his collaborative work with Albert Einstein in the 1920’s. The class of particles that obey Bose-Einstein statistics: bosons was named after him by Paul Dirac. I also named the two Schrodinger cats: Katherine, on the left, named after Katherine Johnson the American NASA mathematician and on the right, Maggie, after Margaret Aderin-Pocock MBE the British space scientist.
